That way all the potato absorbs the salt Warm coffee cream then add the butter to melt 
Pour over partially mashed potatoes and finish mashing 
When done put a big dollop of butter in top. Corner. Let melt. 5 stars

I also like to add cream cheese to the potatoes.  It doesn’t result in a cheese flavor, just a lovely silky richness.

I find boiling the potatoes works just fine, no sogginess here :) Perhaps you’re over-boiling them.

Steam them, you get a much better result, and it doesn’t take any longer. Also, in terms of what to do with leftovers – you have forgotten bubble and squeak (left-over mash mixed up with cooked greens and possibly onions, and fried!).
